Frequently asked questions
- Departure day in the availability calendar is not red.
My departure day in the availability calendar is not red. Am I missing a day?
Yes, but you are not missing a day. Our availability calendar can’t show half days. You leave the flat in the morning. The departure day belonging to you is also the possible arrival day of the next guests and therefore not shown as occupied. - Do we need a vignette for the journey?
No. Since 1 December 2019 the law in Tirol has changed so that coming from Munich, you can drive on the A12 via Kufstein without a vignette until the Kufstein Süd exit. From here you can take the last ten minutes on the B171 to Wörgl and then in the direction of Brixental to Hopfgarten. But be careful in the built-up areas of the villages, because the maximum speed there is 40 km/h and there are frequent flash-flashes. In any case, be careful in built-up areas, as there are also many of these nasty little boxes on other routes.
If you plan to use motorways during your stay, you can still buy a vignette. These are for sale at almost all petrol stations from Munich onwards. But you can also apply for a digital vignette via the Internet (2 hour service: 10 days €14.50), or at the ANWB (10 days €12.35). - Charging electric cars.
If you come to Appartement Mariandl by electric car, there are more than enough (fast) charging possibilities along the German highways to make this journey with few breaks.
Apartement Mariandl itself is not (yet) equipped with a charging station. Our car park is too far away from the house.
You can charge your car in Hopfgarten in the area directly behind the Bergbahn (Ski Lift) car park. This is only a two-minute drive from the appartement.
Here you can see the route https://maps.app.goo.gl/LbE1FsrFqzze14QT6
At this location you will find two 240kW (four 120kW) fast chargers.
► Charging can only be done using a local / Austrian charging card, or by credit card (so don’t forget to bring your credit card!). After finishing the charging session, a QR code appears in the display of the charging station, scan this code with your mobile phone to view the invoice online, or to download it as a PDF so that it can be used as a declaration for the lease car, for example. (Please note as the site is somewhat slow).
► These charging stations are NOT parking places.
Immediately after charging, please use the Bergbahn car park if necessary (this is free of cost).
When charging for less than 60 minutes, you only pay the KWh price. For longer than 60 minutes, 20 euro cents per minute is added.
► There are also some charging stations in the Bergbahn car park, but in our experience we have never seen them in operation. In summary, the electric car charging option when staying at Appartement Mariandl does not pose any significant problems. - Is there camera surveillance?
This is being worked on. Our direct opposite neighbour on the Lindrainweg is financially and economically the most influential man in our region (google Anton Pletzer). His house and its immediate surroundings (including our carport and driveway) fall within the field of vision of his surveillance cameras.
Upstairs, along the Lindrainweg, there are only private parking spaces. There is always a parking problem for other visitors and they sometimes take our private parking spaces. In order to be able to check whether our covered car park is always free, we have already installed a lockable parking bollard and in the future there will be separate camera monitoring in our carport. - Where can I store my skis in winter?
For everyone’s convenience, there are hooks in our carport above the Lindrainweg where you can hang up your skis. Then you don’t have to take them down and up again. We have never experienced theft. But downstairs, to the right of our own entrance door, is a door leading to the boiler room. In the heated hallway you can also hang them on our ski rack. You can also let your ski boots defrost, drain and dry in the plastic water tanks here. - Is there Wi-Fi in the apartment?
Yes, there is WILAN, but normally it is not active. Nowadays almost everyone has free internet via their mobile phone. If you still want to use our (free) service, please let us know and we will give you the log-in code. - Do we have to bring our own bed linen, towels, tea towels etc.?
No; we try to make it as easy as possible for our guests. You do not have to bring all that stuff with you. The beds are made up, towels and tea towels are in the open cupboard at the bottom of the fridge and if there are any spare bed linen, they are in the middle cupboard in the parents’ bedroom. - Do we have to bring our own cooking spices and such?
Not as far as we are concerned. In the second drawer, to the right of the sink in the kitchen, there are spices that you would normally need. In the cupboard above the sink are sugar, salt, coffee, tea and other things. You can just use them. And if you are lucky, there is mayonnaise and mustard etc. in the fridge. We don’t see it as an objection if you replenish something when it runs out. - Is there an oven to heat up sandwiches?
Yes… delicious! Buy some delicious Kaiser bread (Semmeln) and warm it up every morning in our easy-to-use oven. Set the right button to “upper and lower heat” and the left button to 150 degrees. Wait 10 minutes and your warm, aromatic rolls are ready.
